What is Adult Day Care?
Adult Day Care is a service for seniors and other adults whose lives can be enriched in a group setting with activities for enriching their lives such as:
- Arts and Crafts
- Music, concerts and singing
- Games
- Stretching and other gentle exercises
- Social time
Adult Day Care gives peace of mind to family and care providers by providing supervised care and activities for their loved one during regular daytime hours. Our Adult Day Care service provides your loved one with specialized care in a secure, supervised, community based center.
What is Respite Care?
Respite care is care that is provided on a temporary basis by a facility, on behalf of a dependent elderly, ill, or handicapped person, while providing relief to their usual caregiver(s).
The primary caregiver/family member may continue to work, run errands, take breaks and live well knowing their loved one is taken care of while they are away.
Depending on the wants and needs of the primary family member or caregiver, clients can receive care as little as 2 days a week at The Kay Center.
What happens while at The Kay Center?
Kay Center offers 4-6 different activities each day varying from
- exercise,
- trivia,
- reminiscing activities,
- music,
- arts and crafts,
- preschool visits,
- pet visits.
Participants can enjoy a hot nutritious lunch and light afternoon snack. Throughout the day, there is time to be with others and enjoy social activities. The Kay Center staff also assists with medication administration for each individual participant.
What are the qualifications of The Kay Center?
The Kay Center is a state certified adult day care center licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services .
We are a ministry of Church Street United Methodist Church, providing love and care for seniors and other adults needing special care. Services are provided without regard to any religious affiliation.
The Kay Center provides a safe and caring environment, which promotes independence, self-esteem, and dignity for memory-impaired seniors...enhancing the quality of life for the participants and their caregivers and supporting and strengthening the entire family.
What is the cost of Adult Day Care services provided by The Kay Center?
Weekly fees are determined by the number of days a week you come to the center and will cover all activities, lunch, and afternoon snacks. Services can be used for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week.
How can I pay for Adult Day Care Services at The Kay Center?
We accept the following:
- Private Pay
- Long Term Care Insurance
- CHOICES (TennCare's Long Term Care Services Program)
- National Family Caregiver Support
- Scholarships may be made available
